Tropical urbanism - honolulu urban design competition

Facing rising sea levels jeopardizing extensive, valuable port frontage, and intensive urban growth, Sand island is transformed into both a protective barrier island and highly sustainable ocean front development minimizing vehicular traffic, localizing food production and transforming Honolulu's waste into clean energy. 

 

 
 
 
 

69/70 - salt lake city urban design competition

finalist

The strategy to revitalize downtown Salt Lake City centers on bringing the energy of Utah's outdoors into the city center.  Greenhouse gardens and hydroponic fish farms set atop underused parking garages supply the bidding local restaurant scene. Pop-up stages, new bike share & repair kiosks and skyline zip lines add excitement to getting around town.
